Oakwood Landmark Series No. 2:
Harman Elementary School in Autumn

$95.00

Originally built in 1909 as Harman Avenue School, Harman Elementary has welcomed generations of Oakwood children through its stately columns and classic red-brick architecture. Designed by architect Louis Lott and set within grounds originally landscaped by the renowned Olmsted Firm, the school remains one of Oakwood's enduring neighborhood landmarks.

As I painted this scene, I couldn't help but smile knowing that Louis Lott was my grandmother's cousin, which is a family connection that made this familiar landmark feel even more personal. Painting places as they are remembered, I hope to preserve the warmth, beauty, and quiet sense of place that make them meaningful.

Original watercolor on archival paper. 5 × 7 inches.
